Jacob Latch's Coat

Jacob Latch is a Revolutionary War veteran from Lower Merion, Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the Continental Army in 1776 at age 17, along with his father and brother. He was enlisted in Captain John Young's Company of Colonel Paschall's Regiment, and camped in Valley Forge during the fateful winter of 1777-1778. The Museum of the American Revolution possesses his coat. We intend to conserve it before displaying it in the new museum to document the extraordinary contributions of everyday soldiers during the war.
