Why should students in the 21st century care about stories, people and events from over 200 years ago? What does the American Revolution have to do with their lives today? In this half-day workshop, participants will engage in targeted exploration of museum galleries, analysis of primary sources and discussion with their peers and museum staff to come up with classroom-focused ideas for meaningfully tying the Revolution to topics that impact our students in the present day. This is a hands-on workshop – come prepared to work!

This teacher workshop is presented in partnership with the School District of Philadelphia (SDP). Space, however, is available for teachers from other districts. Act 48 credits will be awarded to participating SDP educators. SDP teachers should RSVP by visiting www.philasd.org and registering through Cornerstone. Non-SDP teachers should register by clicking here
