Triumph and Tragedy in Hamilton’s Philadelphia

November 6, 2018 - 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Museum of the American Revolution

Free Educator Workshop

In this half-day workshop, participants will dig into the 2019 National History Day theme, Triumph and Tragedy in History, through the lens of our newest experience, Hamilton Was Here: Rising Up in Revolutionary Philadelphia. Using examination of maps, analysis of primary sources, and hands-on activities, educators will explore how triumph and tragedy depend on the eye of the beholder and ask: How did Hamilton shape Philadelphia and how did Philadelphia shape Hamilton as the site of several of his – and our nation’s – most inspiring and most challenging moments?

This teacher workshop is presented in partnership with the School District of Philadelphia (SDP). Space, however, is available for teachers from other districts. Act 48 credits will be awarded to participating educators. SDP teachers should RSVP by visiting http://www.philasd.org and registering through Cornerstone. Non-SDP teachers should register by clicking here
