American Revolution Center Welcomes President and CEO Dr. Bruce Cole; Announces $13 Million in Public/Private Funding

H.F. “Gerry” Lenfest, Chairman of the American Revolution Center at Valley Forge (the “Center”), and The Honorable Edward G. Rendell, Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, will host a reception to welcome the Center’s new president and CEO, Dr. Bruce Cole, on Tuesday, February 24, at the National Constitution Center.

Center will Focus on Becoming a National and International Center for the Study of the American Revolution and its Legacy

The American Revolution Center (ARC) is pleased to announce that Dr. Bruce Cole, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities, will join the organization as President and CEO effective in January 2009. Under Cole’s leadership, ARC will become a national and international museum and education center in Valley Forge for the study of the American Revolution, and the enduring principles of democracy upon which our Nation was founded.Read more

American Revolution Center Receives Final Approval for Trailhead Building on its 78-Acre Site

The American Revolution Center at Valley Forge received preliminary approval for its Preliminary Land Development Plans and Final Land Development approval for an 1100 square foot Trailhead Building to be built on its 78 acre site. Groundbreaking for the Trailhead Building is scheduled for early spring 2009. The vote by the Supervisors followed unanimous votes earlier this year by the Township’s Planning Commission in favor of building the museum on the Center’s 78 acres of land in Lower Providence.
