Old City Eateries Welcome Museum of the American Revolution and Cross Keys Café to the Neighborhood

PHILADELPHIA, April 17, 2017 —Taste the Revolution! Not only is the Museum of the American Revolution officially joining the landscape of Historic Philadelphia on April 19, but so is a brand new eatery: the Museum’s Cross Keys Café. Local restaurants and breweries are welcoming these new neighbors by creating everything from Hamilton-inspired entrées to a gelato flavor based on Martha Washington’s cake recipe and offering discounts to Museum ticket-holders.

Museum of the American Revolution Installs Bronze Sculptural Panels Depicting Iconic Revolutionary Moments

PHILADELPHIA, April 4, 2017 — The finishing touches are being put on the new Museum of the American Revolution prior to its grand opening on April 19! On April 1, two large-scale (20’ x 40’) bronze sculptural panels were installed in the Museum’s outdoor plaza along Chestnut Street. The sculptures, which weigh in at 1500lbs. each, depict iconic paintings from the American Revolution.

The date marks the 242nd anniversary of the “shot heard ‘round the world” that ignited the Revolutionary War in 1775.

Renowned Painting of George Washington’s March to Valley Forge Installed at Museum of the American Revolution

PHILADELPHIA, March 21, 2017 — From textbooks to postage stamps and post cards, William Trego’s “The March to Valley Forge, December 19, 1777” is one of the most reproduced – and recognizable – images commemorating the Revolutionary War. The iconic work was recently installed at the Museum of the American Revolution and will be on display when the Museum opens on April 19.
